Southern Regional Health System Receives Honors for New Web Site

Southern Regional Health System, a leader in providing innovative healthcare to metro Atlanta, recently received professional honors for its new interactive Web site. The Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals, an international organization consisting of several thousand professionals in marketing and related fields, awarded Southern Regional with a 2009 MarCom Platinum Award for Web Interactive Capabilities.

Now, patients can pre-register for services, family members can send virtual cheer cards to loved ones, and the community at large can view Southern Regional quality reports and listings of sponsored events. Additionally, the site contains RSS feed-capability, a multi-media gallery featuring physician videos that highlight relevant health topics and a wellness section to help visitors learn more about their own health.

"The feedback on the new Web site has been very positive," says William T. Applegate, managing director for marketing and public relations for the health system. "So far, we've seen a documented uptick in the utilization of our web site by our patients and viewers."

Developed by Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, the Web site also showcases patient stories, highlights credentialed physicians and provides in-depth information on all Southern Regional services.
