Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation Raises More Than $155,000
for Hospital Programs at Annual Crescent Ball
ATLANTA – The Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation raised more than $155,000 at its annual Crescent Ball on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the Atlanta History Center. Donations from this year’s event will go towards supporting healthcare services offered by Southern Regional Health System. In attendance were more than 350 hospital supporters, credentialed physicians, and staff members.
“Thank you to Southern Crescent Hospital for Specialty Care, our presenting sponsor, and to all our supporters,” said Andrea Mendez, Development Coordinator for the SRMC Foundation. “With their help, we surpassed last year’s fundraising total and are able to make a substantial contribution to the hospital’s healthcare services.”
At the event, the Foundation announced another feature of its mobile giving program. Donors can simply text SRMCF to 90999, from any cell phone, to make an automatic $5 contribution to Southern Regional.
Earlier this year, the Foundation launched an iPhone application with mobile giving partner, mGive. Through mGive, supporters can learn about upcoming events such as the annual Crescent Ball, Foundation news and donate directly to the Foundation.
