Two-time Grammy award-winning artist to perform at SRMC Foundation's annual Crescent Ball
RIVERDALE, Ga. (Aug. 9, 2011) - The Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Foundation announces two-time Grammy award-winner Ann Nesby as a special celebrity guest performer at the annual Crescent Ball on Sat., Aug. 27 at The Foundry at Puritan Mill.
Nesby, who is best known as the former lead singer of Sounds of Blackness, suffered congestive heart failure in 2005 and was treated at SRMC. She will perform live at the Crescent Ball and will share her story of how her health scare prompted her to take charge of her well-being.
"The doctor I had at Southern Regional convinced me to take my health seriously," Nesby, who has garnered six Grammy award nominations since going solo in 1996, said. "Six years later and 100 pounds thinner, I am returning to tell my story and give back with a special performance."
The Crescent Ball, which is the foundation's largest fundraiser of the year, celebrates the lives saved at Southern Regional with the use of advanced medical technology purchased with the help of SRMC Foundation donors.
Proceeds from the annual Crescent Ball benefit the SRMC Foundation. A limited amount of even tickets remain. Those interested in securing tickets to the ball to see Ann Nesby's live performance and enjoy an evening of fine dining, smooth music and dancing should call 770-991-8004.
