Free health screenings to be offered at fifth annual Spring into Healthy Living event

RIVERDALE, Ga. (Feb. 18, 2011) - For the fifth consecutive year, the Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation and the Women Connecting Women network will be hosting the Spring into Healthy Living event featuring an array of free health services on Sat., April 16 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The event, which will be located at the Morrow Center in Morrow, Ga., is free to the public and offers extensive health screenings for everyone such as EKG’s, cholesterol and vascular screenings, pharmacy consultation and more.

"Educating the community on personal health issues has always been something we’re passionate about," Cynthia Jenkins, director of the SRMC Foundation said. "The annual Spring into Healthy Living fair is just one small way we can give back to the community that supports us."

In addition to free health screenings, Spring into Healthy Living will feature multiple health seminars led by some of the region’s top doctors. Topics of discussion include heart health and stroke.

The Spring into Healthy Living event is made possible with the assistance of two top sponsors: The Morrow Center - the facility where the event will be held – and the Southern Crescent Hospital for Specialty Care.

Currently, the SRMC Foundation is securing event sponsorships and vendors. For more information on how to become a sponsor or health fair vendor, contact the foundation at 770-991- 8004. Proceeds from event sponsorships and raffle tickets will go toward the purchase of a new MRI for Southern Regional.
