Impromptu Valentine's Day wedding takes place at SRMC

RIVERDALE, Ga. (Feb. 14, 2011) - Love was in the air at Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC). Lakeside residents Crystal Gail Landers and Tommy John Peterson wed today in the SRMC chapel.

The couple, who had been discussing marriage for some time, decided last Friday to move the nuptials up to Valentine's Day. They decided to wed at the SRMC chapel after Landers' mother, Gail Landers was admitted to the hospital.

"We are happy the couple chose to share one of the most important moments of their lives together with Southern Regional," Claudia Hall, director of marketing and public relations, said. "We wish the new couple a long and healthy marriage!"

Southern Regional already held a special place in Landers' heart as she not only married at the facility, but bore her son at SRMC as well.

Landers' mother was well enough to attend the ceremony and later said she was very pleased for the couple and was happy to have God's blessing on her daughter's marriage.

The nuptials were officiated by Dr. James Powell of Mary Branan United Methodist Church where the Landers family has attended church for several years.
