Media Policy
As a premier destination for health care in south metro Atlanta, Southern Regional is a trusted resource for medical information. Our relationship with the media is based on mutual respect and the assurance that patients' privacy and confidentiality are given the highest priority.
Media Requests for Interviews and Photographs
To effectively facilitate media requests, Southern Regional has established the following guidelines:
- Members of the media interested in conducting interviews, taking video or taking photographs of staff, patients or patients' families must request and receive permission from a representative of the Southern Regional public relations department.
- All patients must sign a consent form before the media will be allowed to interview, photograph or video tape.
- A member of the public relations team and/or security will accompany members of the media at all times while they are on Southern Regional property.
- TV news crews must remain in the designated media parking lot (located below the Emergency Room entrance) until a member of the Southern Regional public relations or security team can escort them into the facility.
