Throughout the week of May 22, Southern Regional Medical Center took time
to honor and thank all regional EMS staff for their dedication to the
communities they serve. As part of National EMS Week, the hospital sponsored
“grab-and-go” lunches on Monday and Friday for EMS staff,
and raffled off a Porsche print from the Porsche Center, Atlanta.
National EMS Week is designated to bring together local EMS practitioners
and their communities. This year marks the 43rd celebration of the week
that was established by President Gerald Ford. Back then, EMS was a new
profession, and EMS practitioners were just starting to be recognized
as a critical component of emergency medicine.
At Southern Regional, we are grateful every day to our EMS practitioners
for all they do. To them we extend a heartfelt “Thank You.”
