Physician Recruitment - Technology

To achieve the best patient outcomes, you need the best, most advanced technology available to you. Southern Regional is constantly evaluating and acquiring new technology to assist you in both your diagnosis and patient treatment. From computer-assisted Digital Mammography to CT-guided surgery, you can count on Southern Regional to stay abreast of the latest in medical technologies.

Recent technology additions include:

  • 2 powerful new MRI units that are 3 times faster and produce higher quality scans. Available 24/7, these new units facilitate faster, more accurate diagnoses and treatment.

  • New Lightspeed CT imaging system that provides detailed images of the human body, more diagnostic information for doctors and faster treatment initiation in the ED.

With multi-modality review capabilities, physicians can pull up a patient’s record containing multiple reports anytime - and in seconds.

  • Computer-guided Surgery (neuro & ENT) - These surgical procedures put Southern Regional on the leading edge of technological advances and support improved quality outcomes.

  • Level 3 neonatal ICU, providing the highest level of neonatal care available in the Southern Crescent.

  • Technology updates and renovations in a number of areas, including operating rooms, ICU/CCU and emergency department. The result is enhanced efficiency and workflow.

  • Numerous minimally invasive procedures such as the SECCA procedure, a leading edge, outpatient treatment for bowel incontinence now available at Southern Regional.

  • Clinical trials for oncology patients could potentially lead to the next cancer treatment breakthrough. When appropriate, trial participation can be made available to patients.
