Adolescent Inpatient Care
|
Adolescents in need of mental health and/or substance abuse services
have a variety of special needs that require intervention by
individuals who are specifically trained to deal with adolescent
issues. Adolescents in treatment at RiverWoods interact with a group of
professionals including psychiatrists, social workers and nurses who
are specifically trained to work with this young age group. In
addition, a certified teacher assists each adolescent with his or her
school work throughout the course of the treatment so that the
transition back into the regular school environment is a seamless one
after discharge from the program.
As with all of the programs at
RiverWoods, each adolescent has a personalized treatment plan and
attends individual and group therapy. Family therapy is another major
component of the adolescent program, and each patient's family attends
both family therapy and multi-family groups during the course of
treatment.
