Retired College Administrator Rebounds After Rehabilitation

A man of few words, Ulysses Worthy describes the care he received at the The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional simply as, “Excellent!”

Worthy, a father of five and retired administrator for Spelman College suffered a stroke in his home and was treated by our Joint Commission accredited Primary Stroke Center at Southern Regional. After his hospital stay, Worthy made the seamless transition to The Rehabilitation Center to continue his care toward the road to recovery.

His treatment plan consisted of physical, occupational, and speech therapies for an hour each session. When asked about his experience, Worthy says, “I thoroughly enjoyed the physical therapy sessions because I was able to walk around and feel like myself again.” He credits Dr. Foster and the rehabilitation staff for making him comfortable as if he was right at home.

The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional offers a comprehensive acute rehab program for those who have suffered a loss in their ability to function as a result of an accident, injury, illness or surgery.
