Your Donations at Work at Southern Regional
Every Dollar Counts
Each year, hundreds of generous donors - many of them former patients, foundations and local corporations - contribute to the Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation. They make a difference in the lives of countless people who depend on their community hospital.
You can feel great knowing that your contribution makes a tangible difference - felt by our patients every day. Your donation - no matter how big or how small - goes a long way toward helping to improve the quality of care at Southern Regional. Donations support the purchases for state-of-the-art, technologically advanced equipment and also help to maintain key services, especially for programs that deliver healthcare to the poor and uninsured.
Here are just a few examples of how donated funds have been put to use at Southern Regional:
- $3,295 for a Recumbent bike for the Rehab Unit
- $16,500 for an EKG Machine
- $35,000 for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit isolette (a special enclosed bassinet for preemies or sick newborns that controls the temperature and protects them from germs)
- $110,000 for Breast Cancer Education programming and screenings for underserved women.
- $500,000 for the 23-Hour Observation Unit
