Application Procedure

To apply for the SRMC Dietetic Internship Program Spring 2012 matching, students must do the following:

  • Students applying to our program will need to apply through the online Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS). Students applying for an internship at SRMC may apply online after December 9, 2012. The application must be completed by 11:59 p.m. CST on Feb. 15, 2012. There is a $40 fee to use DICAS for the first application and $20 for each additional application.
  • Applicants who apply to internships using DICAS will be asked to complete a personal statement in 1,000 words or less that answer the following questions:
    • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
    • What are some experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career?
    • What are your short-term and long-term goals?
    • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent to:

  • The application must include three references with contact information provided, including an e-mail address. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting completion of a reference form.
  • Applicants must also register online at www.dnddigital.com for computer matching by 11:59 p.m. CST on Feb. 15.  A $50 service is applied which the applicant may pay with a credit card. If you have questions regarding the computer matching process, contact D&D Digital at (515)-292-0490.
  • A $60 application processing fee is assessed should be mailed to Southern Regional Medical Center Dietetic Internship, Food and Nutrition Services, Southern Regional Medical Center, 11 Upper Riverdale Road SW, Riverdale, GA  30274.  Please make check payable to Morrison Management Specialists.
  • Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview in early March.  Interviews are done in person or by phone.

If applying for a part time internship slot at Southern Regional, complete the above application process, but send a separate letter to the internship address above explaining your work schedule and how you can devote 16-20 hours per week between Monday and Friday to the internship practice and didactic requirements.  You will also need to have a letter from your immediate work supervisor acknowledging support of your planned time away from work to devote to the internship.  Your work supervisor may send his or her letter to the internship address above.  Any questions regarding the application process for the Southern Regional Medical Center Dietetic Internship Program can be directed to:  Rachel Dung Tran, MBA, RD, LD at email: rachel.tran@southernregional.org or phone:  770-991-8035.
