We want your experience at our Endoscopy Center to be pleasant and run
smoothly. In order to ensure this, we ask that you do the following:
- Obey all instructions given to you by your physician prior to the
procedure.
- Please read the procedure information sheet given to you containing
additional instructions and information.
- Bring your Physician Order and any forms from your physician with
you the day of your procedure.
- Don’t forget your insurance (including Medicaid or Medicare) card,
as well as a photo ID when you check in.
- Make sure you have a list of all your medications, including the
dosage, how often you take it and the last time you took it. This
includes any over-the- counter (OTC) medications, and herbal and vitamin
supplements.
- Bring a list of all your allergies with you on the day of your
procedure.
- Two (2) weeks before your procedure, please check with your
insurance carrier for any authorization requirements.
Before you leave home for Southern Regional, make sure you have all the
necessary paperwork and items listed in this brochure. Once you arrive,
please follow these steps:
- Park and enter at the Registration Entrance to Southern Regional
Medical Center, and register at the admissions desk at least 1.5 hours
prior to your scheduled procedure. You will be with us
approximately 4 hours (registration to discharge).
- After registering, you will be directed to the Nurses’ desk in the
Endoscopy Center to the left of the Admissions Registration Lobby.
- The nurses will start your IV and begin to make other preparations
for your procedure. You may have a friend or family member with you
during this time if you’d like.
- During the procedure, your family is welcome to wait in the waiting
room outside the Endoscopy Center. You will be in the Recovery Room for
approximately one hour following your procedure.
- You must have someone drive you home after the procedure, and
your escort must remain with you until your discharge is completed.
As the leading GI Lab in the Southern Crescent, we offer all the
sophisticated technologies and tools for managing chronic conditions and
