Visiting Hours
Visiting hours for The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional
are daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. While family and friends
are welcome during these hours, it is important to remember that the reason you
are on the rehabilitation unit is to participate in the therapy and nursing
treatments scheduled daily. We ask that your visitors be sensitive to your needs
and schedule their visits after daily therapy is complete. Due to the level of
activity on the rehabilitation unit, pets will not be allowed to visit. Children
are welcome to visit as long as they are closely supervised while visiting.
Valuables
Southern Regional Medical Center cannot be responsible for valuables during
your stay at the hospital. Valuables should be left at home or in the hospital
safe to ensure their protection. Nursing staff can make arrangements to have
valuables stored in the safe. These valuables can be accessed at any time during
your stay.
Chaplain
Our chaplain visits all patients of Southern Regional Medical Center. At
your request, the Chaplain’s office will contact the religious denomination of
your choice to arrange for a visit, or the Chaplain will continue to visit you
during your stay, if you so desire. The Chaplain can be reached at extension
8399.
Smoking
Because Southern Regional Medical Center is a smoke-free facility, smoking
is prohibited inside all buildings, including The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional Medical Center.
Telephone Calls
Local telephone service is available to you at no charge and is accessible
by dialing “9” and the local telephone number. Long distance telephone calls can
be arranged by dialing “0” and coordinating payment through the operator.
Television
All patient rooms are equipped with a color television that provides you
with basic cable television service.
Meals
Unlike your acute care stay, meals will be served in the dining room, where
you will dine with other patients. Unless you are on a specific diet, you will
be provided with a menu for meal selection based on your dietary needs and
possible restrictions. If there are no dietary restrictions, your
families/caregivers are welcome to provide you with food preferences if approved
by the physician and/or Dietician.
