
Admission Requirements
The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional is an inpatient unit for patients who aren't ready to go home and need intensive therapy and nursing care. In addition to the requirements stated below, patients must experience loss of or difficultly with mobility, self-care activities, cognitive function, communication, perceptual motor function or swallowing. To be eligible, patients must:
Be medically stable and willing to participate in the rehabilitation program
Require two or more therapies (physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy)
Have the motivation, the physical stamina and endurance to tolerate a minimum of three hours of therapy a day
Require 24-hour rehabilitation nursing care and daily physician visits
Have an identified discharge plan and support system
Be free of uncontrolled, infectious disease
Be eighteen years of age or older
Meet specific requirements of your insurance plan
When you are referred to The Rehabilitation Center at Southern Regional, you will be visited by a rehabilitation representative who will work with the medical director to determine if you meet the above criteria.
