You will be asked to keep a diary of your activities and document if you have any shortness of breath or chest pain. Special electrodes are placed on your chest and back so that the lead wires can be connected and the EKG can be recorded. You must not wear neck jewelry nor bathe or shower while wearing the monitor.
You will be asked to wear the Holter monitor for either 24 hours or 48 hours; depending on your physician's request.
