Where to Report:
Please enter the hospital at the Outpatient Entrance. You may pick up the supplies needed for the test in the laboratory, which is located on the first floor of the hospital.
What to Bring:
- Physician Order
- Your insurance / Medicaid / Medicare card
- Driver's License / Photo Identification
- Any forms from your physician
- Please check with your insurance carrier for any authorization requirements.

Procedure Information:
Stool Cultures are used to diagnose acute bacterial diarrhea. Stool cultures are routinely checked for the presence of Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, and E. coli 0157. Upon special request from the physician stool specimens are screened for Yersinia, Vibrio, or other bacteria.
