At the
Women’s Life Center of Southern Regional Health System we encourage
family and friends to visit during your hospital stay. To help us
deliver the best possible care, please follow these guidelines. If you
have any questions or special circumstances that may require other
arrangements, please contact your nurse.
In general,
visiting hours are from 9:00AM to 9:00 PM.
Please:
-
Do not
use cell phones in the WLC except the front atrium waiting area.
-
Respect
the patient’s privacy by knocking and waiting for permission to
enter the room.
-
Be
mindful of other patients and take care not to disturb them.
-
Do not
eat or drink in the patient rooms.
-
Do not
visit when you are sick.
-
Do not
sleep in public areas such as waiting rooms and lobbies.
-
If the
staff asks you to leave (for example if a test is being done) please
do so.

-
Due to
fire regulations, do not linger in the hallways.
-
If a
patient has a “No Visitors” sign on the door, please honor that.
The patient may be requesting that family and friends not visit at
that time.
-
Do not
ask staff to share any patient information with you.
-
Be
respectful of taking pictures and making videos. Photographic
equipment is not allowed in the WLC operating room.
-
Between
9:00 PM and 7:00 AM entrance to the hospital will be limited to the
Emergency Department and the Women’s Life Center.
Guidelines for specific WLC
areas are as follows:
| Labor and Delivery Unit |
| Badges will be given to
designated support persons. The designated support
person must be at least 18 years old. (An exception may
be the infant’s father.) Badges must be worn until the
patient is moved to the Mother Baby Unit. Only siblings
of the new infant may visit and must be with an adult
other than the patient at all times. They will be given
a bracelet to wear. All other visitors must remain
in the atrium waiting area. One designated support
person may be allowed in the operating room. |
| Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
|
| Due to the
fragile condition of these patients, unit visitation is limited.
Children other than siblings are not allowed to visit. Siblings (brother and sister of the new baby) may visit during the months of May through August only.
Visitation dates and times for siblings are Saturday and Sunday 2pm-6pm only. This is due to the high risk of respiratory illnesses during the other months of the year. Our main goal is to protect our new babies from infections.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Other visitors may visit the NICU during regular visiting hours. Visitors are not allowed, however, during shift change. The times we do not allow visitors are:
-
6:30am-7:30am
-
2:45pm - 3:15pm
-
6:30pm-7:30pm
Visitors may be asked to leave during emergencies in the unit.
If you have questions regarding visitation in the NICU, please ask your baby's nurse or ask for the charge nurse.

| Mother-Baby and Antepartum Units
|
| The baby’s
father may visit at any time. Others may visit between 9:00 AM and
9:00PM depending on the mother’s condition. Only siblings of the new
infant may visit and are asked to wear their bracelet at all times.
Siblings cannot remain overnight. No other children can visit. |
