Dietetic Internship

Dietetic Internship at Southern Regional Medical Center

The Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC) dietetic internship program prepares students academically and professionally to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN). Students will gain valuable experience while learning to provide quality nutritional care in cost-effective and innovative ways.

Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Exam for dietitians and begin working in entry-level dietetics positions. Tuition includes didactic and practical experience, office and presentation supplies, Internet access, and the availability of a variety of nutrition and dietetics resources.

The Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Dietetic Internship Program is currently granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®). The program is approved for 10 full-time students and provides a medical nutrition therapy concentration. Since the beginning of the internship (1996), graduates have achieved an 80% or greater passage rate on the Commission on Dietetic Registration Exam (CDR). The program outcomes data are available upon request to prospective students and the public.
