Thank you for your interest in Southern Regional Medical Center’s Volunteer Program. Volunteering at Southern Regional is a great way to give back to the Southern Crescent community while enjoying a meaningful personal experience. Whether you're looking to jump-start a career in health care or to make a difference in the lives of our patients, volunteering here is a worthwhile experience.

Southern Regional voluteers play a very important role in creating a warm, compassionate environment for patients. Volunteers serve in many areas throughout the hospital including patient care, diagnostics, guest services and more.

Since many of our programs depend solely on volunteers for success, we count on your commitment to ensure our future success.

Areas of Service

Service hour commitments can be tailored to meet your schedule. Most programs require only a minimum of 8 hours per month.

Service hour commitments can be tailored to meet your schedule. Most programs require only a minimum of 8 hours per month. Additionally, every volunteer must complete Southern Regional's On-Boarding Training which is approximatley 6 hours and includes lunch.

Expectations

All volunteers must have strong interpersonal skills and display a positive personality. Attitude is everything! We view our volunteers as ambassadors to our hospital community! Volunteerism requires a commitment of time and dedication. We are proud of the loyalty and consideration our volunteers provide our facility.

Application Process

There are three main steps in our application process:

  1. Fill out Application Form
    • For the form, click here or contact 770-991-8282
    • Applications can be submitted, preferralby via email, to: SRGA-Volunteerinfo@primehealthcare.com or dropped off in person, Monday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at the hospital's Main Information Desk or Windmill Gift Shop.
  2. When your application is received, you will be contacted for a personal interview
  3. After the interview, two references will be required from non-family members
    • Reference forms will be provided to you upon a decision of participation

In addition, as part of the application and orientation process, you will be required to provide or obtain the following:

  • A 2-step TB/PPD skin test is required; this can be done at the hospital free of charge.
  • A background check and drug screen is required; this can be done at the hospital free of charge.
  • An influenza vaccination is required during flu season; this can be done at the hospital free of charge.
  • Uniform tops will be provided by Southern Regional Medical Center.
  • If you become a member of the SRMC Auxiliary, you must contribute a nominal membership fee of $10 per year.
