Salvaging a Vacation Gone Wrong
Sue B. (not her actual name) was taking a break from her busy life from
up north to enjoy the warmer weather and fun attractions in Atlanta. Unfortunately,
she had an unexpected accident—she slipped and fell and was rushed
to Southern Regional Medical Center during what was to be a relaxing trip.
She shared that from the moment she entered the Emergency Room, she was
treated with respect. Sue applauded our staff and administration for the
high-quality care she received; and even stated that she wished hospitals
up north could look to Southern Regional as a role model on quality care.
Upon discharge from our hospital, Sue headed back to the airport for her flight home and was surprised when her nurse insisted on bringing her directly to her car in the pouring rain – high quality, compassionate care from beginning to end. Her trip to Atlanta did not turn out quite as expected, but Sue was able to rest easier knowing she received great care and was on the path to recovery.
