Free Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Offered at Southern Regional

If you struggle with symptoms of chronic illness, there are coping skills you can learn that will help you enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Southern Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission, is offering a FREE 6-week chronic disease self-management program entitled “Healthy Changes for Living with Chronic Conditions.”

Every Tuesday from February 5 through March 12, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m., attendees will participate in workshops in Southern Regional’s Education Center that will teach them:

  • Pain and depression management
  • Better medication management
  • Decision-making and goal-setting
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Communicating with family, friends, and health professionals
  • Improving balance & preventing falls
  • Healthy eating

The Southern Regional Education Center is located in the hospital on 11 Upper Riverdale Road, Riverdale. Free parking is available. Attendees should park at the far left of the main entrance and enter through the doors at the end of the building. The Ground Floor can be accessed via stairs or an elevator. All sessions will be held in Room 1.
