Southern Regional Announces New CNO

Dawn Alexander, Chief Nursing OfficerSouthern Regional Medical Center announces that Dawn Alexander, MBA, MHA, RN has joined its leadership team as Chief Nursing Officer. Dawn brings more than 25 years of nursing and operations experience to this position. She will have oversight of all the hospital’s clinical department.

“With her level of experience and commitment to high quality care, Dawn is a great addition to the Southern Regional leadership team and will be an exceptional guiding force for our clinical staff,” states Charlotte W. Dupré, President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Regional Medical Center. “We are truly pleased to have added a strong leader to our team who is focused on delivering patient-centered care derived from evidence-based practices.”

Prior to joining Southern Regional, she served as the Chief Nursing Officer for Nashville General Hospital – a full-service, acute care, 150-bed community hospital. She has also served in nursing leadership roles as CNO, Vice President of Patient Care Services, Administrator, and Director across Tennessee, New Mexico, Michigan, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Dawn earned her Master of Science in Health Administration (MHA) from St. Joseph’s University, Pennsylvania, and an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Gulf Coast University; and she holds a BSN from Hampton University, Virginia.
