Instructions and Information for Procedures / Tests

Where to Report:

Outpatient surgery patients should report to our Outpatient Registration in the front of the hospital for both pre-testing and surgery. Please park in the front parking lot near the middle of the hospital and enter through the middle doors.

What to Bring:

  • Physician Order
  • Any forms from your physician relating to this visit
  • Your insurance / Medicaid / Medicare card
  • Driver’s License / Photo Identification
  • All of your medications OR a listing of all medications along with the dose, how often you take it, and the last time you took it
  • A list of all of your allergies
  • Please check with your insurance carrier for any authorization requirements.
  • Any films or reports from relevant studies not performed at Southern Regional.

Patient Instructions:

  • After registering go to the Nurses’ desk in the GI Lab located by the Outpatient Lobby or Radiology as directed. The nurses will help you get ready for the procedure, starting your IV, etc. You may have someone stay with you while you are waiting for the procedure to start.
  • Your family may wait for you during and after the procedure in the GI/Surgery located outside the GI Lab or in the Radiology Waiting Room. You will be in the Recovery Room approximately 1 hour.
  • You must have someone to drive you home after the procedure. Your escort must be present when you leave the procedure area.
  • Follow your doctor’s instruction sheet to prepare for your procedure.
