Nutrition Services at Southern Regional

Food is an important part of your body's healing process. It's also a significant part of every patient's experience at the hospital.

That's why at Southern Regional Medical Center, we are focused on providing the most delicious and nutritious meals that meet each patient's individual needs. We specialize in tailoring meals to every type of diet-low-salt, vegetarian, food allergies or any other special requests. We go above and beyond to make sure that every patient is satisfied with his or her meals.

The Dietetic Internship Program at Southern Regional is not accepting students at this time. This was a difficult decision to make, as our program has been very successful, and our past graduates have moved on to rewarding positions in our industry. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the continued safety and well-being of our students, we have chosen to take a step back. Due to the program being on hiatus, the Accreditation Council of Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) has placed this program in probationary status. Should the status of our program change, we will announce it via our website and social media venues.

At this time, there is no Internship Director, Clinical Nutrition Manager, or preceptors on site. Our graduates and previous students have received their required letters. Additionally, program documentation and files are securely maintained in our Food and Nutrition Services Office. Any graduate or former student in need of documentation from our program, should contact the Office at 770-991-8032.
